Simple thing about english that are sometimes forgotten

Drive vs. Ride vs. Take (for transportation)

- Drive
is used when the subject is actually driving the vehicle.
example: "She drives her motorcycle to the school every day."
- Hint: The past tense of drive is drove. "She drove to Campus."

- Ride
is used when the person is not driving but they are riding with someone.
example:
Ian       : "Do you want to ride with me to the Mall?"
Adesi   : "Yes, I will ride with you to the store."
- Hint: The past tense of ride is rode.

- Take
is used when you ride on a public transportation, such as an angkot, Bus or Taxi. "He takes an angkot to campus every day." "My father will take a bus to the office."

"Much" versus "Many"

- Some items can be counted: one car, two mangoes. For countable items, use "many."
Examples:
"There are many cars in this city."
"How many mangoes did you get?"

- Some items are uncountable: Stars, Sugar, time, Salt, or dust, they cannot be counted. For these, we use "much."
Examples:
"There are much Stars on the sky."
"How much salt do you need to cook fried rice?"

- In some situations, "a lot" can be used instead of "much."
Examples: "It takes a lot of money to buy sport car."

Daily Informal Words
In everyday conversation in our own language, we often shorten our words without changed the meaning n what we intend to, just like "Kemarin - maren", bagaimana" to "gimana" or "terima kasih" to "m'kasih." These are not considered formal language, so we do not usually use them in writing. same case also happen in English language, they also sometime shorten they word in daily conversation just like Indonesian people did.

a lot of        : alotta - "I hope alotta people will read this blog."
because      : cause - "He can not join us to play futsal today cause he got injury."
Give me      : gimme - "Gimme some money!?"
going to      : gonna - "She gonna Mad to you."
got to          : gotta - "I gotta come back before dinner time."
kind of        : kinda - "It's kinda rude to utter."
Let me        : lemme - "Lemme help you this time!"
Whatcha     : what are you - "Whatcha doing in my room?"
Want to       : wanna - "do you Wanna try this cake?"

Some people did that (shorten words) for some different reason., for some friends of mine who i have asked, they did that because they think its cool, sounds better and fast to utter. think we should remember that, this just for speaking only :) these are not for formal writing.
